| Riders to remember corrections officer |

Beacon Journal staff report, A memorial motorcycle ride for William ''Bill'' Hesson, 39, the Army veteran and state juvenile corrections officer killed on the job April 29, will be held June 14, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. and the first bike out at 1 p.m. The ride will raise funds for Hesson's pregnant wife, Julia, and children, Brandi, 19, Skyler, 17, and Riley, 20 months. Hesson had not worked at the juvenile facility long enough to qualify for death benefits. The ride begins at the Gala Commons, 2215 E. Waterloo Road, Akron, in the rear lot, and ends at the National Veterans Cemetery in Rittman, where Hesson is buried. His family will be there to meet the bikers. Cost for the ride is $10. Donations are also being accepted by the Warthogs Rubber City Chapter, which is sponsoring the event. The Warthogs are a national motorcycle club for police, fire, corrections and court employees.
