Swine flu fears at Barlinnie Prison Inmate placed in isolation after apparently coming into contact with person linked to the virus. A prisoner at a jail in Glasgow has been placed in isolation after coming into contact with someone who developed swine flu. The contact is understood to have taken place before the inmate entered the Barlinnie Prison. The Scottish Prison Service said the jail was running as normal. The inmate's identity and length of his sentence were not disclosed. It is believed the prisoner may have come into contact with a swine flu victim in Paisley. There are now a total of 264 confirmed cases of swine flu in Scotland. Three people are being treated in intensive care in Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital. Another person was discharged from hospital on Tuesday. There are eight healthcare workers among the confirmed cases, while 380 cases remain under investigation.Read more.
