A prisoner being treated at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn., escaped momentarily Thursday afternoon after he attacked a female officer while undergoing surgery.
After escaping, the male inmate from Graterford Prison, ran out of the hospital and onto nearby Chestnut Street where he attempted to carjack a parked car with a woman inside.
According to eyewitness Jerry Ramos, the prisoner "ran out of the hospital; he had blood all over him, and he just ran across the street and dove into this lady's car."
The woman, who sustained minor injuries during the incident, was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
The suspect was quickly apprehended and was returned to police custody.
It is not known what kind of surgery the prisoner was undergoing but he was injured during the incident as well.
