GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police stepped up their search Friday morning for two brothers who escaped an officer Thursday night at the Hall County Detention Center. Sgt. Jay Parrish said early Friday the pair, who had been arrested on parole warrants, was able to escape a patrol car as the officer was pulling into the parking area of the jail. However, Sgt. Parrish said the exact circumstances that lead to the escape are still under investigation and Lt. Brian Kelly said later in the morning that that was still the case. Lt. Kelly also said "We are checking all last know locations for them. They now have active warrants on them for escape in addition to the original parole warrants." The men are identified as James Oliver Mills and Jimmie Lee Mills, both of Gainesville. K-9 units from the Gainesville Police Department, Hall County Sheriff’s Department, and Georgia Department of Corrections were were used in the search for the men. A Georgia State Patrol helicopter also joined in the search which was coordinated by the sheriff's office. < a href="http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=221403"target="_new">Read more.
