Federal detainees could move to Baltimore prison Jul 27, 2009 BALTIMORE -Maryland and federal officials are working on a plan to house hundreds of the state's federal detainees in the former Supermax prison in Baltimore. Currently, inmates awaiting trial in federal court in Baltimore are spread out among two dozen facilities in several states, including Ohio. The plan developed by Federal Detention Trustee Stacia Hylton and Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Secretary Gary Maynard would bring up to 600 detainees to Baltimore within three years.
