As state lawmakers continue to battle it out to reach a budget deal, state workers who are stuck in the middle, are reaching their breaking point. "It sounds terrible, but we take it for granted. Every payday you get the money to pay your bills, but when you can't, that's a big reality check." Even though she wants to remain anonymous, a Cambria County woman wants her voice and her heartache heard. He husband works as a corrections officer at SCI Cresson. Their extra money in the past has gone to help their children so there is no savings, and with no more paychecks in sight, the family has just $21 left in the bank. "By the 20th of next month, we are actually eligible for food stamps." The family now plans to resort to selling off their belongings on Ebay. Even then, it is not enough to pay for the mortgage or for vital medicine. "We have put 13 years into this home. We have never once missed a payment. This is the first time we couldn't make a payment on our home. We don't know what we are going to do. I have to have medicine that the insurance will not give a generic form of.
