| Michigan Prisons may take California Inmates |

Michigan prison officials should know within a month whether California will send inmates to the Muskegon Correctional Facility, keeping it from closing. The medium security prison was recently visited by California officials, who proclaimed great interest in the site. The Muskegon Correctional Facility that was slated to close and cause devastating job loss in the area, is remaining open until a final decision is made on California inmates. Tom Tylutki, president of the Michigan Corrections Organization, said the California inspection team was expected to make a favorable recommendation to that state's corrections department.
