Chicago Blackhawks winger pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

Patrick Kane's legal troubles have been resolved.

In a plea agreement between the Blackhawks winger and the Erie County, N.Y., district attorney's office, Kane pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct -- a non-criminal violation -- and in return had all other charges dropped in a case involving an altercation with a Buffalo cabdriver on Aug. 9.

"All the original charges were dismissed and were satisfied in the case with a non-criminal disposition to disorderly conduct," Kane's lawyer, Paul Cambria, said. "The judge gave him a conditional discharge. There was no fine imposed and the matter has been resolved."

Kane, 20, and his cousin, James Kane, 21, had faced misdemeanor assault, theft and harassment charges after cabdriver Jan Radecki accused them of beating him and stealing a fare the Kanes had paid him.

"Right now all I'm going to say is I'm happy to move forward," Patrick Kane said in a text message to the Tribune.

Kane, who apologized for the incident before last week's U.S. Olympic orientation camp but didn't reveal details from that night, was ordered to send a letter of apology to Radecki, pay $125 in court fees and stay out of trouble for a year for the 'conditional' discharge.

James Kane also pled guilty to disorderly conduct and received the same orders from the judge.

Reports have said the altercation occurred after Radecki locked the cousins in his cab until they paid him.
