| Visitor trafficking marijuana arrested at Pendleton prison |

PENDLETON — A visitor was arrested at Pendleton Correctional Facility on Sunday while attempting to smuggle marijuana into the prison. Simone Davis, 41, of Indianapolis, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Acting Superintendent Kathy Griffin. Davis was arrested by Indiana State Police Detective Bob May and taken to the Madison County Jail. Davis is being held on suspicion of trafficking with an offender in a controlled substance, a Class C felony, possession of more than 28 grams of marijuana, a Class D felony. Davis was carrying around 115 grams of marijuana, according to Mike Rains, internal affairs officer at the prison. “Staff assigned to our visitor’s processing area are to be commended for the excellent security work and thorough search procedures that resulted in the detection and seizure of this contraband,” Griffin said.
