| New warden named for women's prison |

MITCHELLVILLE --- Corrections Director John Baldwin announced Friday to the Corrections Board the appointment of Deputy Warden Patti Wachtendorf as warden of the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women at Mitchellville. She has served as acting warden since March when then-warden Diann Wilder-Tomlinson was appointed acting deputy director of the Western Region and then officially appointed deputy director in July 2009. Wachtendorf will oversee all operations of the multi-security women's institution, including the upcoming remolding, renovation and new construction projects. Read More. |
