| Sullivan voters head to polls for primaries |

Republicans in the Town of Lumberland will be choosing their candidate to replace long-time Supervisor John LiGreci, a party member who is not seeking another term, in Tuesday's primary. Two councilmen, Faber Wilson, who has been on the council for about eight years and serves as deputy supervisor, and Jay Shafer, who has been on the council for about a year a half, are vying for the nomination. Wilson, 54, works for the state corrections department in Otisville and Shafer, 58, has his own construction business. Shafer has received the Conservative Party's endorsement. The winner can expect to face Democrat Nadia Rajsz in November. Lumberland Republicans will also be giving the nod to two candidates for council from incumbent Leigh Sherman and challengers James Akt and William McKerrell. Read More. |
