The former New York Giants wide receiver, 32, says he hopes to resume his NFL career after completing sentence on weapons conviction. Former Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress apologized to his family and tearfully kissed his pregnant wife and young son goodbye Tuesday before he was led away to prison in New York to begin serving a two-year sentence on a weapons charge. Burress, at the time a star receiver with the New York Giants, was at the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan in November when a .40-caliber gun tucked into his waistband slipped down his leg and fired, wounding him in the thigh. Burress arrived in the courtroom Tuesday wearing jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt, a stark contrast to the dark blue suit he wore last month when he entered his guilty plea. People having guns that are not properly trained about gun safety a lot of times shoot innocent bystanders and in his case themselves. It happens all the time because its so easy to obtain a gun illegal. Theres no one solution to this problem. Some say make all gun posession illegal but the problem most of the times are with the guns bought illegal. A 15 or 16 year old are a convicted felon can't go in a store and buy a gun but they still have them, so if you stop the law abiding citizen from baring arms then the only one with them will be the criminals. Its just a no win situation in my opinion.....
