Well-suited escape plan

Cops launched a dragnet Wednesday night for a career crook and "escape artist" who strolled out of a Manhattan courthouse after telling a guard he was a lawyer.

Ronald Tackman, who turns 55 on Thursday, shed the suit he wore to break out of jail at his mom's East Side pad before vanishing.

Tackman's lawyer, Joseph Heinzmann, said his client may be slippery, but he's "not a dangerous man."

Still, Tackman has a lifetime of reasons why he doesn't want to be caught.

"He's facing life sentences both here and in Queens County" because he has prior felonies on his rap sheet, a courthouse source said.

Tackman's 81-year-old mother urged her son to surrender.

"I wish he would come out and turn himself in," said Genevieve Devine, who insisted she had no idea where he was hiding.

"I saw him for a few minutes this morning and then he left. He left his suit, which the police took."
