Corrections program gives away S.C. trees

Cities, counties, schools, neighborhood associations and other public entities on Wednesday picked up free trees grown by the S.C. Department of Corrections and PalmettoPride, South Carolina's anti-litter and beautification organization.

Almost 3,000 trees, including crape myrtles, river birch, Leyland Cypress and dogwoods, were passed out to 56 recipients at Corrections' horticulture depot in Columbia.
