| Jail visitor arrested for smuggling drugs |

A visitor to the Pendleton Correctional Facility was arrested Tuesday after she was caught smuggling drugs to a Muncie offender during a visit. According to Superintendent Finnan, 39-year-old Lynette L. Austin of Indianapolis was arrested by Indiana State Police Detective Bob May and transported to the Madison County Jail. Austin was arrested on preliminary charges of trafficking in a controlled substance with an offender, a Class C felony, and possession of marijuana over 28 Grams, a Class D felony. Austin was visiting 35-year-old Robert D. White of Muncie. White is serving two 20-year sentences for dealing cocaine, a 30-year sentence for dealing cocaine, and a 15-year sentence for possession of cocaine. White was sentenced on these charges in Delaware County and was received at the Pendleton Correctional Facility on Oct. 9, 2008. Read More. |
