CONCORD - North Carolina prison inmates will again have the opportunity to showcase their artistic and creative talents at the 33rd Annual Art Show Thursday, November 19, through Friday, December 4, at the Rowan-Cabarrus Community South Campus in Concord. The show, to be held in the college’s student center in the 3000 building, is sponsored by the North Carolina Division of Prisons. The host facility will be Cabarrus Correctional Center. “Overall I feel this will promote arts education, strengthen partnership in the community and give the inmate artists a chance to share their talents with the public,” said Jenn Selby, instructor of photography and fine arts at the college. Art will be available for viewing during regular college hours. # # # (Editor’s Note: Photos of 2008 art show winners are available by contacting the Public Affairs Office at 919-716-3733.) |
