| Probation officer fired for falsifying records |

The Corrections Department has fired a senior probation officer for allegedly accepting drugs from criminals in return for falsifying their community work documents. The senior supervisor was sacked in August following an investigation but authorities were unable to come up with evidence of a drug deal and no charges have been laid. The former supervisor initially denied the charge while being interviewed by One News - before indicating he had been threatened. After consulting with police, Corrections has decided to deal with the matter internally, and has referred the case to its Professional Standards Unit. Read More. |
