| Judge reduces teen's prison term |

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Tulsa County judge has reduced a teenager's prison term by five years for the killing of his 16-year-old friend two years ago. Preston Plum was convicted of first-degree manslaughter in the 2007 fatal shooting of Heather Garoutte. District Judge William Kellough sentenced Plum in January to 15 years in prison. At a judicial review Friday, Kellough modified Plum's sentence to 10 years in prison plus five years of probation. According to a Department of Corrections report, Plum, now 18, has demonstrated compliant behavior while in prison and completed several "faith-based" programs. Read More. |
