| Students develop recycling program for Ill. prison |

PONTIAC, Ill. - A high school ecology class has helped to make a central Illinois prison a little greener. Pontiac Township High School teacher Paul Ritter says 14 of his students developed a recycling program that began last week at the Pontiac Correctional Center. Ritter says prison staff approached him to come up with a recycling plan after realizing that more than 14,000 plastic bottles each month were being thrown away at the facility. Read More. |
