HAINES CITY | A burglar may have thought he saw a path to easy money through the ventilator shaft on the roof of La Placita Mexico Supermarket. But if that was Randy Eugene Cliett's plan, it was foiled when he got stuck in the narrow shaft Tuesday morning and was unable to free himself for several hours, said Sammy Taylor, acting chief of the Haines City Police Department. After climbing in from the roof early Tuesday morning, Cliett, 49, couldn't get a foothold along the greasy sides of the shaft, which ventilated from the kitchen grill, police said. Read More. |
