| Execution Set For 'Stocking Strangler' |

ATLANTA -- Georgia's Department of Corrections said Carlton Gary, known as the "Columbus Stocking Strangler," is scheduled to be executed on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Officials also announced Friday that a hearing before the state Board of Pardons and Paroles has been set for Dec. 14. The board could consider changing the sentence to life without parole, changing to life with the possibility of parole, denying clemency, or granting a stay of execution of up to 90 days.
