| Media outlets sue to obtain parole records of Phillip Garrido |

California corrections officials have refused to release parole information on the convicted sex offender accused of kidnapping, raping, and holding captive Jaycee Dugard, resulting in a lawsuit filed by three media outlets. According to UPI, the San Francisco Chronicle, KCRA-TV, and The Sacramento Bee, filed suit on Friday against the California Inspector General’s Office and the state Department of Corrections. The news outlets want the records to determine how closely Garrido was observed by parole agents between 1999 and August 2009, when he was arrested for his crimes against Jaycee. Read More. |
