| Troubled RI jail expected to name interim head |

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) — A consultant who authored a highly critical report on a Rhode Island jail that housed immigration detainees is expected to be voted in as the facility’s interim director. Michael Fair, the former commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, released an audit last week that said the quasi-public Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls was plagued by dysfunctional leadership and a lack of transparency. Wyatt spokesman Bill Fischer said the board that oversees the jail was expected to vote on Fair’s appointment at a meeting Tuesday night. The appointment is expected to last 90 days, he said.
