| Delinquents learn work skills in Glendale tasks |

Administrators at the state's Adobe Mountain School, a juvenile corrections facility northeast of Glendale, are relying on a new strategy to reform young offenders: Put them to work. The school has introduced a new program, dubbed "Skills for Work," that allows delinquents to spend several days a week working outside the detention facility. Young men in the program are assigned to perform manual labor for various local government agencies. Their tasks range from doing landscaping work for the Glendale Advocacy Center to cleaning animal cages at the Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center. Read More. |
