A youth correctional facility in Camarillo is off the list as a possible site for a state prison hospital. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced Dec. 3 that neither it nor the federally appointed receiver will consider the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility in Camarillo as a possible prison hospital for adult inmates. “I was extremely happy to get that e-mail,” David Schlangen said earlier this week.
