The answers to the gang problem are fairly simple, but require leaders to think outside of the box. First, prayer; second, the police must get to know the people in the neighborhoods, perhaps a walkable beat. Whatever they are doing is not working; we have to change; we have submitted ideas to the mayor and City Council, but they have not acted upon them. The Neighborhood Watch program can be a great asset; people know their neighborhoods, they know who the problems are and know what is happening. Need help with the database? I will set it up for you or find a reputable source. The police do not have a good reputation with the people that count — the east side.
