KENNEWICK -- A senior at Kennewick High School was found dead in her home by her family, authorities said Wednesday.

Kennewick police said there appeared to be no evidence of foul play in the death of Jessica Switzer, 18, who was found not breathing in her home Monday. She died sometime overnight, authorities said.

An autopsy conducted at the request of the Benton County Coroner's Office did not reveal why she died, said Michelle Genack, deputy coroner.

Genack said the cause of death is pending results of analysis of toxicology evidence obtained at the autopsy.

Jack Anderson, principal at Kennewick High School, said Switzer "was a sweet girl and she will be missed."

She had a passion for cheerleading and also enjoyed volunteering in local nursing homes, according to her obituary, prepared by Hillcrest Memorial Center. She grew up having a strong Christian faith, her obituary said.
