| Man gets 12 years in prison for rape |

A 54-year-old Seaside man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a developmentally delayed adult and for having a prior "strike" conviction under the Three Strikes law, the Monterey County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday. Bruce Joseph Clemmons was arrested Oct. 9 by Seaside police after officers responded to a 911 call from the guardian of a 27-year-old woman. Clemmons was identified by the victim and said he had several sexual contacts with her, including intercourse, the DA's office said, and he also admitted knowing of the victim's developmental issues.
