| Prison escapee arrested — again |

A Florida prison escapee who spent more than 30 years on the lam, only to be released on bail when he was finally recaptured last month, is back behind bars. Oscar Eugene Richardson, 61, was arrested Friday at his home in Ridgedale, Mo., and was held without bail in the Taney County Jail. Florida officials hope to extradite him back to this state. Richardson robbed two Tampa drugstores about a month apart in 1977 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He disappeared from a state work-release camp in Kissimmee in 1979. Last month the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and state Department of Corrections held a high-profile search for a dozen prison escapees, including Richardson. Dubbed the "12 Days of Fugitives," it featured photos of the prisoners when they escaped and age-enhanced drawings of what they might look like today.
