| Missoula jail ordered to vacate swine flu policy |

(AP) — HELENA, Mont. - The Montana Supreme Court is barring the Missoula County jail from enforcing a policy that suspended face-to-face visits with inmates over concerns about the spread of swine flu. The Supreme Court, on Dec. 23, concluded that the jail policy harms inmates' access to the courts through visits with attorneys and that detainees did not have a speedy and adequate way to obtain exceptions the policy. The court added that the jail "may impose reasonable public-health precautions such as masking and hand sanitizing to reduce the risk of infection." The Missoula County Detention Facility policy suspended religious, Alcoholics Anonymous "and other similar functions which rely on outside visitors." The policy, issued on Oct. 27 by Capt.
