Belmarsh Prison escape plot thwarted

An escape bid has been foiled at Britain's toughest high-security jail.

A rope made from torn bedsheets was found by alarmed guards at Belmarsh Prison.

Three inmates have now been placed in the segregation unit at the South London jail and forced to wear yellow and blue uniforms to signify their "escape risk" status.
