GOFFSTOWN, N.H. (AP) — A Manchester man who has served 24 years in prison for killing his wife is scheduled to ask a Superior Court judge Wednesday for an early release from prison. Steven Volkmann pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the November 1985 fatal stabbing of his estranged wife Teri. There are three years remaining on his minimum sentence. Last month, a judge denied a similar request from Eric Grant, who has served 19 years of a 29-year sentence for the killing of his wife. Read More. |
