Family and friends are holding a fund-raising dinner for Auburn corrections officer Sal LoMascolo, who was seriously hurt in a hunting-related accident last fall. The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 at the Ukrainian National Club, 125 Washington St., Auburn. There will be a pasta dinner, music by DJ Don Tavener and a live performance by Heather Lardeo as well as an auction, raffles and door prizes. LoMascolo, 35, suffered a spinal injury when he fell from his deer hunting tree stand in Aurelius on Oct. 11. He was checking out the stand a week before the bow season was to start when he was startled by some mice that had built a nest in his stand, he said Monday. LoMascolo was initially paralyzed from the waist down but has since regained some movement and can walk with a cane, he said. He does physical therapy three times a week. Read More. |
