| County Jail Needs Repairs Immediately |

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 By: FRANCISCO DÍAZ LAREDO, Tx.- Built in 1986, the county jail is obsolete and too expensive to maintain. Sheriff Martín Cuellar considered that this prison is a "time bomb" that can explode at any time and cause the Webb County to be fined. "We have an estimate that came out to 1.5 million dollars of urgent repairs," he said. One of the deficiencies is located on the roof structure, that needs urgent attention. "We also need to repair the building elevators and the central air because it does not operate correctly," he indicated. Cuellar mentioned that he has requested the support of the Commissioner's Court that these matters may receive attention."
