God doesn't need to forgive her for raping a teenage neighbor because she's not guilty, Nichole Rowe told a Cumberland County judge Tuesday. "I didn't do this crime," Rowe, 22, of West Pennsboro Twp., insisted before Judge J. Wesley Oler Jr. sentenced her to a mandatory 10- to 20-year state prison term. She begged, in vain, to be allowed to stay in county prison so she can continue visits with her 17-month-old son, who was born while she and her husband, Kenneth Clark, awaited trial in the rape case. The abuse occurred for two years until a neighbor saw a photo on a cell phone of the girl performing a sex act on Clark, police said. Rowe's lawyer, Gregory Abeln, said Clark manipulated Rowe into committing the crime. Rowe said the time she's spent in county prison enabled her to "come closer to God," who has forgiven her sins. "I suppose this is the first time she's admitted she did anything wrong," said First Assistant District Attorney Jaime Keating, who said Rowe lured the girl into the sex triangle. Rowe shot back that she didn't rape the girl, but has been forgiven for other sins. Read More. |
