SALEM, Ore. – A courtyard fight between as many as 40 inmates has put a medium-security prison on "modified lock down." The fight broke out Saturday in the Oregon State Correctional Institution's outdoor yard. The yard is at 3405 Deer Park Drive SE in Salem. The Department of Corrections is investigating the incident. The lockdown and a visiting ban will remain in effect until the Department of Corrections' special investigative unit completes its investigation, said Department of Corrections spokesperson Jennifer Black.
