ROCKLAND, Maine — A man who escaped from Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren and avoided capture for nearly two weeks was one of 15 people indicted by the Knox County grand jury Tuesday.

Clifford James-William Perkins, 26, of Warren was indicted on charges of escape, unauthorized use of property, burglary of a motor vehicle, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, criminal mischief and operating after revocation.

A corrections officer noticed Perkins was missing from Bolduc on Nov. 21, 2009. It took authorities almost two weeks to find the man, who was hiding in woods near Scarborough. The Southern Maine Regional SWAT Team found and arrested him in early December. He was the third Bolduc inmate to escape in November.

After his escape, Perkins allegedly stole a vehicle from Friendship Trap Co., a business he had listed as his last place of employment on his indigency affidavit.
