Police in Winooski are warning residents of the release of convicted sex offender Brian L. Wright, 31, of St. Peter Street. Authorities said in a Wednesday news release that Wright is untreated and considered a risk to the public. Wright was convicted in January 1998 in Burlington of lewd and lascivious conduct and is required to register as a sex offender; he was arrested in early December on allegations of failing to comply with the registry. The police news release said Wright was wanted in Alabama for failure to notify the sex-offender registry there, and also was out of compliance with Vermont's list. He told police he had returned to Vermont in July after leaving Alabama in February and traveling the East Coast. Read More. |
