Hancock Co. jail clears hurdle

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued a permit to allow Hancock County to fill about 12 acres of wetlands at the site for a new jail.

Board of Supervisors President Rocky Pullman tells the Sea Coast Echo that the permit clears the way for the county to buy the land for the new jail.
