| Corrections Officer Now in Custody Allegedly Shot Husband |

A Russell County corrections officer accused of shooting her husband in the abdomen early Monday is in custody. Candy McGuire, 34, allegedly shot her 42-year-old husband during a domestic dispute at their Lee Road 574 home, said Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones. Deputies were called to a home at 7:17 a.m. CST and found the man alone in the house. Deputies arrived and found a male individual at that residence who suffered at least one gunshot wound,the sheriff said. The man was taken to The Medical Center in Columbus.
