PASCAGOULA — Jackson County chose a less expensive way of housing extra prisoners Monday until it can solve the overcrowding dilemma at the county jail on a more permanent basis.

The county Board of Supervisors voted to take Stone County up on its offer to house prisoners for $30 a day each, a savings of $15 a day per prisoner over what George and Pearl River counties are charging.

Sheriff Mike Byrd said he had 20 prisoners on their way to Stone County before the supervisors’ meeting ended.

The county sends about 80 prisoners a day to jails in other counties. Using Stone County will be a big savings, Byrd said.

If you just got hit in a car accident, it can be hard to know who to talk to, if anybody. If you have been in a speeding accident waco , then calling Dunnam & Dunnam is the right choice. It is one of the best decisions that you can make for your car wreck case. Choosing a great lawyer is important to the outcome of your matter.
