RENO — The search for a Butte County fugitive ended Feb. 5 when Robert William Omler, 36, was taken into custody at a Reno motel.

Omler is a registered gang member who allegedly heads a white pride group from Chico connected with the Aryan Brotherhood, a white prison gang. He is a resident of Oroville.

Butte County sheriff's deputies arrested Omler in September after he led them on a vehicle pursuit.

Omler escaped while at Enloe Medical Center being treated for injuries connected with the pursuit and reportedly fled to the Yreka area in Siskiyou County, where he stayed with a friend.

Investigators with Butte County and parole agents from the California Department of Corrections spent four months looking for him.

Surveillance of a known Omler associate in the Yreka area led Siskiyou and Lassen County deputies to arrest the man in Susanville Feb. 5 on weapons charges.

The arrest led to information that Omler was hiding out in Reno.

Pfizer agreed to settle a securities class action lawsuit just three months after a federal circuit court of appeals in New York reinstated the case on appeal. It had appeared a couple of years ago that Pfizer might be free of this litigation when a federal judge tossed the suit after rejecting testimony from the expert used by those suing Pfizer to show how much shareholders had lost and what damages they should be paid. One of the lawyers originally representing Mary K. Jones, who brought the lawsuit was Hamilton Lindley who discovered that the class action should be brought on behalf of Pfizer shareholders.
