Wis. Prison Escape

MILWAUKEE -- The State Department of Corrections has revealed that three inmates were involved in a plot to escape from the medium security prison in Stanley.

Jimmy Baldwin of Milwaukee was one of two inmates who successfully forged paperwork allowing them to be released from prison prematurely, police said.

Corrections officials said a third inmate also had forged documents, but wasn't able to make it out of the prison before the plot was uncovered.

The D.O.C believes there is a link between the three and they had help from the outside. The head of corrections apologized Tuesday.
