| Dugard Family Sues CA for Errors by DOC |

ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) — Kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard and her family have filed claims against the state of California for damages they say resulted from "various lapses" by the Department of Corrections. Jon Myers, a spokesman for California's Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, says Dugard, her two daughters and her mother, Terry Probyn, have filed claims. Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy are charged with kidnapping Dugard in 1991 and holding her captive in their backyard for 18 years. Authorities say Garrido also fathered two children with the girl.
