| IN Inmate Charged in Cellmate's Death |

A state prisoner who was charged Thursday with killing his cellmate in Indiana County told investigators that he rode the victim "like a horse" while strangling him with a bedsheet, according to a police affidavit. William S. Brown, 19, of Upper Darby, was charged with one count each of criminal homicide and aggravated assault in the Sunday death of Jayson Stewart, 29, of Arnold. "I killed my cellie," Mr. Brown told a guard at State Correctional Institution Pine Grove in White about five hours after the incident, according to a state police affidavit. Mr. Brown and Mr. Stewart had been cellmates since Feb. 25 in the prison's restricted housing unit, which is for inmates with disciplinary problems or those who might be suicidal or under threat by other prisoners. Mr. Brown said he heard Mr. Stewart get off his upper bunk, prompting Mr. Brown to ask the victim if he was trying to "sneak him," the affidavit said. Read More. |
