| County DOC Repaid for Ambulance Bills |

Grand Island is preparing to repay about $15,000 to Hall County for incorrectly billed ambulance services. Two weeks ago during a county claims meeting, Supervisor Dan Wagoner questioned ambulance bills the county Corrections Department had received. The bills were for transporting inmates to St. Francis Medical Center. Wagoner wondered two things -- if the county was receiving the Medicaid rate for ambulance transport and why it was being billed when the city and county had an interlocal agreement for county ambulance service. Under that five-year agreement, Hall County paid $190,180 this year for the city to provide ambulance service to the county, if need be. It paid $184,641 last year for the same service. Read More. |
