DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (AP) - A judge has ruled lawsuits brought by two women who had worked at the Dakota County jail can go forward. But U.S. District Joseph Bataillon dismissed Dakota County's board of supervisors and corrections department as defendants. Lawsuits filed by Toni Duncan and Charvette Williams allege female jail employees were pressured into sexual relationships and those who refused were treated as outcasts. The county itself, sheriff James Wagner and chief deputy Rod Herron are the remaining defendants. Wagner and Herron are both running for county sheriff. Both men had asked to be dismissed from the case. A message left Saturday at the sheriff's office was not immediately returned. Read More. |
