| Fugitive Caught After 10 Years On The Run |

A man who evaded parole supervision for the last 10 years was arrested early Thursday outside of McDonald's restaurant at Johnston Avenue and Kearney Street, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. According to the news release, Rex Eugene Peck had a criminal history of at least 30 arrests dating as far back as 1950. He served time in both state and federal prisons for crimes that included burglary and conspiracy to commit bank robbery. He was paroled on May 25, 2000, by the Missouri Department of Corrections while serving a sentence for two counts of burglary, one from Greene County and one from Miller County, the release said. Terms of his parole included "electronic confinement," during which the parolee wears an electronic monitor that allows authorities to know his whereabouts. Peck broke off the monitor August 4, 2000, and evaded supervision by assuming the identity of an old friend named Jack Gruber, who is now deceased.
