A Florida Department of Corrections employee arrested on a child neglect charge over the weekend will be fired from her job. Bridgette Coachman, 28, of Lake City, was arrested Saturday morning by Lake City police on two counts of child neglect. According to police spokesman Sgt. John Blanchard IV, officers found Coachman's 2-year-old child after neighbors called police to report the toddler had been wandering outside alone for about 10 minutes. Police also found Coachman's 6-year-old child alone inside the family's home without adult supervision. After police located Coachman, she reportedly told them that she had taken her boyfriend to his home more than 12 miles away, a trip estimated to take at least 25 minutes, Blanchard said.
