Madison, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin prison officials say they have collected DNA from about a third of the thousands of offenders and ex-cons who never submitted any over the last decade and a half. A Department of Corrections review last fall found 17,698 offender DNA samples missing from the state's database. Agency officials say they have collected about 6,315 of those samples since October. But about 10,000 offenders were released from state custody without submitting DNA, and they could be anywhere. Read More. |
